Lurdes Saramago Chappell has lived her life in lisbon, Portugal. Having a degree in Modern Languages and Literature from the Universidade Clássica de Lisboa. She began reciting poetry and participating in theatre from the age of thirteen, writing as well from an early age. The desire has always been to interpret her poems on stage, making them visible and interactive, as she does in performances both in Portugal and abroad.

Lurdes has published several of her poems in various publications..publishing her own book in 2010: “ Os Ramos das árvores cobrem-nos a todos”, The Branches of trees cover us all...A book written both in portuguese and english where the author has brought together some of the poems that have accompanied her...in this book you can also hear the musical compositions that accompanies the poems in a CD audio...and the illustrations of 3 portuguese artists.
